Suspect mechanic flipped 02 sensors during exhaust work

I had some exhaust work done on my 99 9-5 which required dropping the exhaust down pipe. After the work the car never goes into closed loop cycle. Could anyone describe the symptoms of having the connectors switched. Is there any way of looking at the connectors to identify if they are flipped. FYI - the front O2 wire connector does not sit in the little bracket along with the cranp position sensor. The car runs reasonably ok apart from being a little slow to start (very cold rated plugs)
