My '04 Aero auto already has a very prominent rumbly vibration to it in Drive. I am not about to risk adding MORE vibration by eliminating the pass over the center idler pulley.
I'd say the automatics would probably have more vibration than the standards... because they vibrate more to begin with. Idling in Drive the engine is fighting the friction of the torque converter which makes the engine vibrate extra, where a manual transmission car idling in neutral does not put any load on the engine.
