Your TCM uses the micro 64 pins. Each wire is connected to the module by a pin that is .64mm wide. They are somewhat delicate. It could be that a bus wire has a bad connection. We have tiny probes that we use to check for voltage on these pins and to do what is called a pin drag test to see if the female pin in the connector is too loose.

However, there is no way to change the filter without bumping that connector so that probably did not cause a problem. Before condemning a module though, the bus voltage to the TCM should be checked and the pin drag test should be done on the bus pins. The general rule is, if a module has power and ground and good bus wires, then it will communicate.

I dunno' about the mode button. Those usually get something spilled on them.
