I had an interesting 9-5 ones with a severe misfire during boost setting cylinder #1 specific code that took awhile to find.
One of the two bolts for the fuel injector rail was loose and during boost, it pushed up the rail and #1 injector popped out of the intake manifold and then got sucked back in masking any problem when you looked and listen to the engine in the shop.
Tighten down the bolt fixed the problem.
