Prices from all of the three big names: KBB, Edmunds, NADA are all over the map. I found the same thing with the two 9-5s that I've had totaled.
NADA seems to have the best grasp on reality, and comes closest to the valuation that the insurance companies use. Edmunds is close, but falls a bit on the low side. Kelly can be just about anyplace!
Know also that your 125k is considered "high" mileage by the industry, and you get deductions because of it. You donlt mention the transmission in your car, but the 5-speed manual you may cherish is a liability, and a deduction on the vehicle's value.
You'll have a hard time getting the value up on the car. Maybe if you could prove similar cars were selling for more in your area, you'd have a shot.
As for the salvage title, if they pay to repair it, you normally would not get a salvage title. However, if you take the money, but buy the car back from them, then you run the risk of having a salvage title. In reality, it's only a disadvantage if you plan to sell the car down the road. If you plan to keep it, it's not a problem.
