Thanks for the quick response Larry. Yes, there is no indication of how it might be put together, and extensive searches online for pictures and/or drawings reveal little. I tried to order a new key cylinder (the real culprit that needed replacement) through the dealer and they told me they are no longer available... permanent backorder. (the type you send in your VIN and they create a new cylinder to fit your car) So just trying the next most likely approach.
