I, as well as many other 9-5 Aero and Viggen owners, are disgruntled about GM's involvement with Saab. I take responsibility for sounding disgruntled. I Don't mean to sound so negative though, more "disappointed" is it. My classic 900TC is my favorite car, but that's when Saab was Saab. I do love saabs. I believe GM is responsible, however, for "litening" the engine and making it less strong for spirited driving; and forget about tuning the 9-5 aero engine if you want it to last. You'all heard many, many stories about exploding engines due to poor oil pressure, clogged screens, poor MAF readings due to that and the eventual leaning out and predetonation of engines causing them to die. GM cut costs, couldn't get the PVC #6 fix installed in time either to remedy the issue. Plus they stuck the cat right under the oilcooler and fries the oil supply. If GM just tried to make a better version of the 9000 Aero, and if they'd used the exact 9000 Aero version of the engine with the 9000 Aero fuel pump/screen and so forth, we'd have bulletproof 9-5 Saab cars. I understand that it's only the pistons and a couple other engine parts that are less strong, was it a cost cutting measure? Did GM just not know what they were doing? Thank goodness the European Spyker Company took over saab, though the new 2011 9-5 is GM designed. Spyker will have to bring back the saab enthusiasts, while generating new saab clients. Again, sorry for the disgruntled slant.
