Re: one dealer couldn't do it, indy told me don't do it Posted by Navid [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Manual transmission flush or change, saabsince 93b ![]() ![]() |
While this topic is hot, I'd like to ask something. For my 2003 Linear I recently bought a couple of litres of fluid. I went to a dealer about 6 months ago in Shreveport and after waiting 2hrs at my appointment they told me they could not do it and rolled the car to the front. They didn't have the Saab tool for accessing the plugs! (LOL). I guess this dealer had independent mechanics who worked there and none had the tools. I asked them if they could make a "shortened alan key" and they said "unlikely cause they guys have their own tools and it won't be worth it for them."
About a month later I called an indy Saab specialist in Houston who asked me why I wanted to change it. He said that it was equally likely in his experience that something would be amiss after because of the detergent action of all that new fluid, and not to touch it was perhaps the the best choice. He said to wait for a new clutch install where it would be automatic.
So I haven't done anything. Thoughts?
