Don't understand either your math, or your reason for calling the dealer despicable. If he is saying he will sell the car for a dollar over his cost, and you think that is too much, make him an offer for a price you think is reasonable. Put a check on his desk instead of saying he is despicable.Just because someone has said they can buy the car for less does not make him bad. Tell him what you want to pay for the car, and be ready to pay it if he says yes. You will find that this strategy takes all of the BS factor out of buying a car. More of it comes from buyers than from dealers. If you know what the incentives are, and are really ready to buy, and not just kicking the tires, make him an offer instead of complaining about his first pass at getting your money.
