I found with really heating the nut first, with a propane torch, then a liberal dousing with penetrating oil, AND a long bar on my socket, the large bushing nuts came off without problems.
As I said... I don't mean to discourage you from the Powerflex path. With the exception of greater harshness over bad pavement, they are superior in many ways including durability and handling "crispness".
As far as getting your OEM bushings out of the front sleeves, I recall it was a much easier job than the rears... probably because the aluminum sleeve comes off the car easily and was simpler to clamp in a vise and have at 'er!
Just occurred to me! I'll never put them back on. For a "nominal fee", and if you covered the shipping I could send you my removed front Powerflex bushings including the oriignal aluminum sleeves! What model year is your 9-5? Mine is a 1999. The 2002 and up used a larger diameter bushing I am told.
