2002 have over 1,000 improvements, but cusomters who drive both back to back will still buy the 2001. You can hardly feel the extra gear in the '02 five speed auto and many people prefer the glossy wood.
I personally like the looks of the 2002 alot better, the new nose and tail lights. The leather of the interior on the 2001 seems to be "gathered" more, but I find the ventilated seats to be less comfortable, but I haven't had a chance to work with them in hot weather. The Harmon Kardon is nice, but I listen to talk radio. Memory seat? Is it that tough to push the buttons? Heated rear seat? I never sit back there.
I do agree with the previous post that last years model is worth $3000-5000 less than a current model. And there will be a very insignificant difference in resale for a car without a premium pacakge. The big diffrence is in the model year. The only "hard" add is for premium sound, for example memory seat is not a "hard" add. It doesn't add to the resale value, ditto heated rear seats and auto dimming mirror.
