Based on mileage on the ones I have replaced, you should be on your third AMM at least so the question in your case is pretty moot and if you don't want to replace parts at random you need to find someone with a Tech 2 that can read the air mass meter correction value while driving and from that see if it is really bad, bad or maybe even ok.
I'm fairly sure though that you catalytic converter is the cause in this case, it always is.
Why do you think it should last longer than 45K just because it says Magnaflow on it. After market cats are not even in the same vicinity as the genuine ones and Magnaflow is not any better than other after market ones.
Most likely, you could run the cat test with the Tech 2 and the cat would pass without a problem since the Saab test is not very accurate in mimicking real driving. It is when you drive nice and carefully that a mediocre cat start to trigger that code because it is not keeping the flame going.
If you would drive like a banshee the whole time, you would probably keep the light away for a longer time due to that the cat stays lit more often and longer.
