Thats just euro-snob.
Just because older JP cars are generally a tad underpowered and a little light and small, they're "un-inspiring" and boring.
Or do you consider rattles, wind noise, and fear of the transmission dying "sensory satisfaction"?
My 89 Honda Accord shifts and handles just as good as a 9-3SE I test drove, and had less problem (its 13 years old!) than many new owners here.
My brother's 2001 Prelude handles better, shifts much better, and is definitely not for the sensory deprived! Its also much cheaper than the 9-3 for the same features.
Praise Saabs as you like, but don't generally bash ALL cars from a country.
Just in case you guys are wondering why I'm in a Saab bb. Its because I work for GM, and can't really drive a JP car for much longer, and I happen to like "spirited driving", so I'm looking at Saab.
Unfortunately, the things I hate the most are the little problems like wind noise and interior rattles that Saab 9-3s seems to be plagued with, plus the fact that its hard to find a Saab mechanic in my area (closest dealer is 50 miles away, and they don't look very good..), it makes a purchase decision difficult.
