I understand that other providers do the rounding. I think rounding up by all providers is a scam by the industry. My issue is that they do not clearly disclose this in any of the official information about the service that I have read. I also have an issue with the notion of expired minutes. If I buy a block of minutes, they should be mine until I use them. The final thing I take issue with, is the fact that they charge you minutes for just using the functions of the service that have nothing to do with making calls.
Additionally, I tried making a call today and got one of those "all circuits are busy, please try your call again" messages from the cellular provider. The call was never connected. Guess what? I got charged one unit for the call. On my regular cell phone, minutes are only charged if the call is successfully connected.
