I've done exhaust work on two 9-5's with a tolerable amount of grief. It might make sense to replace both rear pieces at the same time. Look into the BSR system at genuinesaab.com I cut the bolts with a Dremel tool and then drove them out of the flange with a punch. To make the job much easier, unbolt it at the turbocharger, unplug both oxygen sensors and drop the wires, take off the hangers and drop the system on the ground. Then slide it out and work on it out in the open. It might seem like more work but in the long run it's easier, and you can get a real good look at the other parts to see the condition. Your short pipe with a flex joint might be failing also by now, mine were.
