It is a royal pain in the butt to remove but also to install that whole hose package with all its twist and turns and now after some years of testing, I would not suggest that but to eliminate the bypass valve all together and run the Scandinavian heater hose package instead.
That way you only need to deal with removing the old hose package ones but install a much slimmer dual heater hose deal and you would not have to deal with another leaking bypass hose.
It comes up to a little bit less than $200.00 parts and labor when I install that type of hose.
