I have noticed no difference so far Posted by saabsince 93b [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Bypassin' the Bypass Valve - Any actual difference?, Dano in Texas ![]() |
I am in SoCal and put the Mackay in 6 months ago. We have had a few 90 plus days and I see no difference in cooling. I have heard that it only works at full cold....but I don't know....
I will know when we hit a heat wave here and will be able to report. I see no difference even at full cold.
So my personal experience so far is that it makes no difference.
by the way when I bought my Mackay hose I also bought a full set of all coolant hoses. Upper and lower radiator, tank hose, heater hose, and water pump by-pass hose. Was $75-80 usd from eEuro. if I had bought new by-pass hoses and put in a new by-pas valve it would have been $250 if I recall correctly. I had a heater hose leaking at the head so i had to replace.
Also if you are doing this yourself get a cable driven spring clamp remover and put new high quality worm gear clamps in.
