Hi All,
Alignments off on my 02 Aero sedan. Check out the print out. You can see the common camber issue in rear with .9deg more neg on right. Fronts off by 1.6??? Need some help working this out in my head. I'm slow...

Ok so rear fix choices are spring spacers, and or shims.

Spring spacers - My ride height is 1" low on both sides and so if i raise the height, i cant get my head around how both rears will come into spec if right is .9 degree more neg than left which is in spec. I can understand the geometry of how the pivots cause the arc of the camber and height changes the geometry, but if both springs are spaced up 1", i don't see how the left would stay in spec and the right would come into spec. If say the 1" raise yielded a .5deg camber change in the positive direction - wouldn't that yield .6 left and 1.5 right? Jeff (JJJ)- can you clarify? Anybody else have any input?

Shims - I know shims are frowned upon but it seems that if you put those suckers in there and adjust the geometry, then both wheel cambers can be matched up. Looking at my print out - if i got the shims, i need .9 shim to offset the diff between -2.0 and -1.1. Correct? Or have people found that it is not a direct 1:1 ratio? Local saab specialist recommends these - says he's done a lot of them and its common. Want to see what kind of info i can clarify here so i don't drive this guy nuts asking him a zillion questions...

If I'm riding 1" low, and i really wanted to address ride height, it seems that's a separate issue. Anybody else have any results to offer regarding the rears?

Fronts - don't have a reference point but is 1.6 diff a huge spread? had a tire shop that offers free alignment check look at it and he thought the car was damaged or something. He's not a Saab guy so after reading all this stuff, it looks pretty common. Does it look like it is out of spec more than the adjustment points will allow to correct? Options to fix:

Camber adjustment bolts - Has anybody used these? If so,do they stay in place? How difficult are they to install? Time to install? Is there an installation procedure floating around out there that anyone knows of?

Some have mentioned slotting a hole in one of the strut mounts or something like that. Same questions - difficulty, time, well documented procedure, etc..

If i can do the fitup myself, id like to do so then bring it into a shop if can. Don't want to drop 250-400 bucks on the entire job.

Any and all input is greatly appreciated.
