I have heard that to save $s some people just take one of the old keys and remove the chip from the key housing and then somehow fasten the chip somewhere inside the center console so that it is always recognized. Then you would only need a regular key to start the car. Haven't tried it myself but it seems to make sense. Don't think our old saabs are tops on the list of must-haves for car thieves.
