I too came from a 9000- except for the extraordinary room of the hatch on the 9K, I found just about everything was better on the 9-5

Tires- most folks here get 30-40k miles on a set. But I dumped several sets at 12-15k just because of the noise. I'm a sensitive sort, I guess. The best I've found are Conti DW or DWS for long term quiet & no perceived loss of traction/ handling.

Wiper- The WIC says the rain sensor/ control unit in front of the interior mirror assumes control of all wiper function once turned on. i.e.the DICE is not involved. If wiper function is OK at the other positions (LO & HI speed) it seems the only component left is that sensor unit itself.

In 10k mikes do not skip the serp belt & pulley replacement
