care of new paint

Not having had a new car in over 10 years, I want to do right by the paint on my new Aero. I successfully resisted the finance manager's impassioned attempts to persuade me to buy the paint protection/interior protection package, figuring that if there really is a treatment out there that will eliminate the need to wax for 5 years, that it is undoubtedly available somewhere else at much less cost. But is there such a thing? I'm old school, and have had good luck on my older cars with quality waxes like Klasse, applied by hand every few months. I understand from the manual and old posts here that I should wait 2-3 months before doing anything to the paint (car is almost a month old at this point), but I want to be ready to go once that time is up, and am not sure of the best way to handle this newfangled paint.
