I can tell you how I do it on my V6. I'm on the road so can't check the CD for differences with the 4, but don't think there's much:
You'll need oil (a little less than 5 liters on the V6), a new copper drain plug washer (you can reuse the old one, but a new one seems to seat better), a filter, a couple of tools and a drain pan.
Create space under the car, using ramps, jackstands or, what I do, straddle the gutter so there's room to slide underneath.
Remove the 13mm drain plug to drain the crankcase into an oil pan. If they're not too far apart, remove the filter using a filter wrench or socket, and drain that too. Otherwse, wait for the pan to drain and replace the bolt and washer first. I put a plastic bag over the filter before completely unscrewing it, and that catches most of the drips.
You should get the torque spec for the drain plug, because it's not good to overtighten it into the aluminum pan. I don't remember it off the top of my head.
Fill the filter at least partway with fresh oil and coat the washer with a thin film of oil. Clean the filter area with a rag before spinning the filter on and tightening 3/4 turn after it makes contact with the seat.
Put most of the new oil in, run the engine a bit, wait for the oil to settle and then check the dipstick efore topping off, as it probably doesn't take a round amount.
It's simpler than it is to describe, and by far the easiest Saab I've had to change the oil on. Start to finish is down to about 15 minutes for me.
