Hi Ed,
I hear you, and I have always felt SAAB offered quite a bang for the buck as a used car. I have a 9000 and a early 9-5. I am just seeing some crazy prices in some places. (ie-191k Northern car- $5200) There are some deals too, don't get me wrong.
I don't entirely agree with your optimism on parts. I (along with most Saabnet folks) am very creative and feel that I can weather the parts acquisition issue, but a quick scroll down a popular online parts supplier shows many important parts as blank. Even my mechanic states that he is spending more time finding parts than fixing cars. I cannot see a scenario where parts will be fully stocked again. I hope that I am wrong.
I love Saabs and I love Saabnet, just stating my opinion.
