I think I identified the wrong shift point Posted by MI-Roger [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: I get flares with mine, but yours sound different., B Millar ![]() ![]() |
I test drove another 2008 Aero tonight, #3. Although this car did not have the shift flares I am now sure they were occuring at the 2-3 upshift based on the road speed versus shift point correlation that I closely watched tonight.
Car #2, a non-Aero, was sold today before I got to the Dealership after work. It had been on the Dealer's lot for 6-8 months which raised a flag in my mind.
Car #3, an Aero, was shod with aftermarket 16-inch wheels and Cooper snow tires. The original equipment wheels and tires are not available and not included in the already high price. The Salesman told me they would get those for me and include them in the deal at no increase in price. Since this was a Cadillac only lot I knew the guy had no idea he was making a $2500 verbal commitment. His mouth was writing a check his butt can't cash and he didn't even know it.
Car #1 had brand new Pirelli P6 tires, one of which still had its label. I don't care for Pirelli's P6 model based on our 9-3SC experience but at least the Dealership took the pains to research the original equipment factory tires and fit them to the car at a cost to them of around $1000!
I will ask the Dealership offering Car #1 to include a transmisison drain and refill with the correct 3309 fluid in the deal at no added cost. See what they say.
Car #4, a non-Aero, requires a 125 mile round trip drive to investigate. The online CarFax for it shows that it was leased in New Jersey and since lease turn-in has been offered by Dealers in PA, OH, and now MI with nothing in between other than auctions. Another flag raised.
