Just got the turbo out. Bearing fine but seal must be popped or something as its a lot of oil. I shut it off fairly quick (minute or so) so I think you're right- cats probably ok. Looks like the oil had just made it through the intake to the throttle.
I thought of crankcase pressure and double checked the PVC routing. Checked genuine Saab and it looks like when I redid the PVC it was #6. I've owned the car since new. Either way it was a direct transfer from the original engine which was clean.
I got it from eeuroparts and have bought parts from them for many years- always satisfied- so will be giving them a call tomorrow. I replaced the old one as it still worked but had about 70,000 on it and some shaft play and being my wife's car she will be out of the State this summer a lot with it- original went about 80,000.
Freaking me out alright- could you actually generate enough crank pressure to blow the turbo seal? I can see a leak but its a flood, not a few drops.
