Please see link below. Have been doing this quite a bit. I will not replace springs again, tried and even new OEM springs will sag again. Not worth it. Put in spring lifts. Have to get ride height to spec.

Jeff JJJ Performance.

Saab 9 - 5 Rear Spring Lift Assembly

This is for assembly of JJJ Performance Spring Lifts. Please note use at your own risk, etc.

Tools:

1/2" drive Metric socket set with long extensions
Electric Impact Wrench (One from Harbor Freight)
Through Hold Socket Set, Metric / US (Sears / Harbor Freight)
1/4" drive Metric and US Small Socket set
1/2" Breaker Bar, long
Coil Spring Compressor

Object is to remove the "Quick Structs" from the rear, dissassemble, replace shock (probably) and install lifts and reassemble.

1) Jack up one side rear of car and secure
2) Remove Wheel
3) Using breaker bar and extensions, loose 4 strut bolts.
4) Using breaker bar, loosen lower large nut on hub from below
5) Using impact, remove lower large nut
6) Using impact, remove 4 bolts holding unit on. Note any shims, etc.
7) Using breaker bar, pry off lower mount, hold strut, it will fall down.
8) Take strut to bench and compress spring using compressor, impact wrench, enough so shock can move in strut. If first time just take your time.
9) Using through hole set and 1/2" socket set, hold shock rod and remove top nut. This will take a while. Be patient. Loose nut until tight. tight back up, clean threads, Hit with PB Blaster and WD 40. Rinse and repeat until nut is off. May have to use rotary tool to square off top of rod. Tap on 1/4" sock (metric or US) for tight fit. Can take many minutes to get the nut off. Extreme cases had to saws all the rod after bolt is a bit loose.
10) Take struct apart and reassemble with new strut and lift, will have to compress spring a bit more because of lift.
11) Reassemble nut on top until tight.
12) Decompress spring slowly and make sure the top of spring is in correct position in rubber.
13) Put struct back on car, put top 4 on first with shims and tighten in place.
14) Use bar to rotate shock bottom to correct position
15) Have someone stand on hub (be careful) and put in bottom bolt when lined up.
16) Secure bottom bolts and side bolts with breaker bar to same torque

Repeat with other side.

a) Lower car and run over a few speed bumps to settle suspension.
b) Take ride height measurement to see how close
c) When done with suspension, have a wheel alignment done.
