Radiators are failing left and right on both 4 and V6 so at 168K you are on borrowed time.
But it is not the lower hose attachment that gets brittle and break, it is the upper on in most cases due to that it is the hot side of the radiator.
So if you remove the upper hose and squeeze the plastic snout sticking out and if it is soft, you should replace the radiator.
When you are done, you can test the old radiator and see how bad it actually was by breaking off that hose fitting pretty easily. Then you can try to break off the lower one and it is almost impossible.
Radiator also start to leak at the rubber gasket between aluminum core and plastic tank. That can sometimes happen even on younger radiators.
