AC Stepping Motor Blues

2001 9-5 Aero (119k)
Original AC problem was warm air coming from passenger/rear vents-drivers side cool.
Diagnostics shoed 2 ACC codes; 10 which is "stepping motor, air-mixing flap, RH-Jammed Flap and 13 which is "stepping moor, air distribution flap-Jammed Flap.
Took apart glove box on pass. side so I could eyeball the problem. Removed the silver electric motor and shortened shaft so gear was not as extended. That didn't help.
Removed black plastic stepping motor with "R" on it. White plastic arm that rides on yellow shaft at one end with metal rod on the other seemed intact and not broken. Note, when rod is in far "up" position, I get cool from the passenger side-conversely when rod in down position is when I get the warm air, so obviously in hot weather, you want rod in up position. I reattached the stepping motor (with R on back-I also had to crank the t-grooved shaft manually to fit) and noticed when I started up engine, the motor returns rod to the down position-allowing warm air to blow in pass side and rear-which was original problem.
I moved connecting rod to the up position (cool air) and disconnected power plug. Now I'm riding around with no glove box but cool air figuring out what the next repair is.
Oh, and one last thing-I ran ACC diagnostic and now have same 10 & 13 codes but have a third, code 8 (which is driver side) but I've getting cold from that side.
Thats where I am now. Suggestions?
