One problem is that it is not an accepted method by some but as you said, if the little sag is not bothersome and you don't load down the car a lot adjusting camber and toe is a quick way to restore it from eating tires.
We see the same thing on Volvo 30, 40 and 50 models where the factory upper control arm have issues and the aftermarket industry has come out with several adjustable options that work great restoring camber.
Ford Focus and Mazda 3 use the same control arms and they have the same problems too.
Another problem with the 9-5 is that many and most alignment shops don't think it is possible to adjust rear suspension so a lot of these cars go through one alignment after the other without ever getting the rear camber and toe adjusted.
