Warning- do the repair correctly, this is only a stop-gap method.
I did the "drop the oil pan repair" a couple of years ago. Worked great. I have been meticulous on oil changes. Recently the oil pressure light started coming on at idle (sometimes)after the engine warmed up. Fearing the problem had returned, here is what I did...
Drained the oil, took a piece of music wire with a 1/4 bend on the end, and put it in the oil pan through the drain plug, ensuring I was under the screen. rotated it so that I could scratch the screen. I then sprayed seafoam penetrating oil in, and let it drain. I repeated this about five times. I then took a new quart of oil and poured it through, rinsing out the pan. I also went in with a few pipe cleaners, then rinsed with some more fresh oil from the top.
Completed the oil change, all seems good for now.
Rob
completed the oil change, so far so good.
