I was thinking of doing the mesh swap recently but changed my mind when I started looking into it as people were saying the design of the oil pump in the 9-5 is not nearly as robust as in the 9000 and that the oil flow goes first through the oil pump before being captured by the filter, so any debris would get sucked through the pump before being captured. What has your experience been with oil pump longevity after poking holes or changing the screen?
