I have a Yakima Skybox, can't recall exactly if it's the 16 or 18 cubic foot version, for our 2003 Aero sedan. It is awesome, turns the 9-5 into a capable hauler of 4 people + all the stuff they need for a week-long beach vacation.
I settled on either the Skybox or the equivalent Thule Ascent model. These are their step-up models that feature tool-less installation, improved construction, double-sided opening, etc as compared to their basic models. Both offer "premium" versions of these that seem to be nothing more than silver tops vs. black, so I passed on that.
From there I bought on price, and for whatever reason found the Skybox for ~$75 less. I'd borrowed a friend's Thule before and having used both find them to be equivalent in every important way.
Don't worry about overhanging the front window. Thule and Yakima don't advise against it, and unless you went with one of the smaller, square shaped boxes, it's inevitable. Of more concern is clearance at the rear if you're installing on a wagon or SUV with high opening rear hatch.
