On Christmas eve the belt on my wife's 2003 Aero popped off when she started the car. Luckily she was in our drive when it happened.
when I got to it after Christmas, the belt off the pulleys and the belt was whole. All the idlers and things driven were in good shape. I soon realized that the car had the short belt installed. I have never worked on the belt system in the car and have to assume that the dealer that did the CPO warranty work put it in.
I got a new long belt and installed it. Everything works fine in a week of running.
My questions is.....do short belts just pop off? Or do I have something wrong that I can't find?
Thanks
