First of all if you haven't done anything. Change the fluid using the proper 3309 fluid a few times and then see if it gets better.
If not, decide if you can live with it.
One of my customers 02 9-5 has had a pretty bad clunk since I saw the car the first time in 07 with 89K and he is now up to 180K miles and the same clunk is there.
I wouldn't spend the money of a used transmission for that.
Maybe a properly rebuilt valve body in that case.
