In another 60,000 to 100,000 miles from now, Ive used rubber O`rings the pipe is currently tight but I'm thinking that the back of the crank is rolling down hitting the pipe. In the picture provided by B Miller the pipe is straight running across the bottom of the motor, my pipe has a strange bends in it at the center, Maybe the pipe in the pic has the same bend but it sure looks straight to me, and perhaps when it was dislodged from bad O`rings it may have come in contact with the crank while it was flopping around before its final rest in the pan.
I`ll have to surf over to eeuro and look to see if they have one with a bend in the middle of the pipe.
Dropping the pan is in no way worth the work, but if the objective is to replace the O`rings I`d do it only if the car has over 100,000 miles
