Just so you guys know, the threads were indeed oiled and I went REALLY slow with the second one. Of course buying new bolts that have a more durable thread and of better build solved the problem. In fact, after a quick trip to fastenall, 3 dollars later, I had two new bolts (no need for them to not be bolts despite what the kit has), nuts and additional washers so that I could use a socket for the whole process, what was left to do on the first side install just slid right into place - hardly any resistance at all. Side two went quickly as well. The threads on the new bolts still look new. The only thing available in M12 with enough length were cap bolts accepting a 10mm allen on the head. These were the metric 10.3 grade.
Of course, the issue wasn't whether I could find a better replacement but rather that after spending what I did the need to do so was even a possibility. The sleeves were very useful and it is nice to have pieces that are designed to do what is needed but really, I think I will look into having the three cups machined out as copies. One would only need two of them anyway. Two larger ones come in the kit so that removal is possible with the deeper one and theoretically the more shallow one would help assure the proper install depth. Just looking at the bushing as you install it would suffice so the shallow one is actually a frivolity. All the same, if there is anyone in the Ashland, OH area that needs to borrow these just ask. No sense spending money on overpriceed poorly made stuff.
