My 2000 se is up on ramps for a coolant change, and it won't start now.
It has been smoking since I bought it. It's not registered or inspected yet, and I've been working on it in the mean time. I have narrowed it's smoke to one of the first suggested reasons - turbo. I still haven't physically gotten in there to wiggle the turbine or whatever, but I will. There is oil in my intake.
In ruling out some more harrowing things (head gasket), I drained my antifreeze, and loaded the system up with water. Drained the 2nd time, and went for a third. Once filled with that batch of water, it wouldn't re-start. Temperatures here are very moderate, so no worries about too much heat / freeze.
I ran low on gas, but still shut it off with the key last time. It won't start now though, and I wonder if it really did just run out of gas. I put 2 gallons in though, and still no start. Battery is fine (well, with jumper cables). Could it also just be that the turbo couldn't take the oil build up anymore? I plan to get into the turbo and rebuild / replace it but I was going to try to finish the coolant change first (if possible).
Thank you!
