I haven't been driving it. I don't have free time often to go out and diagnose problems, but this is a project car. There is a little sludge (based on what I can tell from the oil cap). I don't run it much (on road), just basically let it idle in my driveway from time to time to try and diagnose the issue. I was fearing head gasket because of the smoke, but was told that turbo is more likely.

I changed the coolant because I figured that if it came out oil / milky free, head gasket is less likely, and it's worth my time to invest in the other areas of the car. There isn't any milk in the oil either (changed that too). I'm doing the more simple things first, working up to the turbo (because I've never owned any saab but a c900, and there doesn't seem to be anything like a Bentley manual for the 9-5). I'm still trying to figure out what all I need to remove to get to the turbo :P

Symptoms - just the smoke - it's a constant (not too prominent right at startup, just once it warms up, and it doesn't go away at all). Otherwise the car seems fine from what I can tell. There is a strange boiling noise that came from the engine compartment after I shut the car off one time - coolant temp and oil temp looked normal. My spark plugs are in good condition. There is a little moisture that comes out of the exhaust, but I can't determine it to be anything else but water by taste/smell.

Anyway, I'll try to get it off the ramps, or just get some more gas into it to get it started again.

Thank you very much,
Matt
