I too am a fan of the crimp connectors and if done right (using a proper crimer, not pliers) are very strong. In fact soldered connections are not up to code for Marne and aircraft wiring where vibration and cycling will break a solder joint. In aircraft and marine applications only a proper crimp will do.
Not to suggest that those who have soldered connections are doing their saab a disservice. Most folks who do the wiring harness fix solder it, and find that it lasts just fine.
