I really hate the side jacking points on the 9-5... ...and the stupid jack that comes with the car. I really dread having to change a tire by the side of the road - I tried jacking it once with the trunk jack and it almost pretzeled on me while cranking it up the first time... I've never tried it since! I must have done this hundreds of times on the c900's, but they have a decent pad and a (slightly) better jack... I use a floor jack in the center locations on the 9-5 and never use the sides except for jackstands... and even so, I really don't like how it is a metal edge that rests on the stands rather than a pad... I protect the edge to avoid paint damage (and future rust), but it just seems nasty to me to put that much load on an edge... also you need a big floor jack to lift the 9-5, and it probably needs to also go pretty low, at least if you have an aero! even on my arc, it's tight in the front.
I also agree re only knowing about 4 side points - 1 near each wheel... this is the norm afaik... I hadn't noticed anything about a mid jack pt on each side - are you sure? what year?
