Its totally possible. I replace them that way all the time.
You can use a pry bar to angle the control arm down after you have them unbolted and take the holding nut off. Do take care while prying between the control arm and chassis though. To much prying will stress the front bushings. You just need enough room to move bushing-bracket beyond the body of the underside of the vehicle. They should slide right off with a little persuasion (tap tap). However, there might be some rust build-up inbetween the inner sleeve of the bushing and control arm. In which case they might put up a bit more of a fight. Soak them with some lubricant/rust penetrate if that is the case.
