Stage II works fine in my 9-5 Aero Wagon.
You really need high performance tires to connect the torque to the road. If traction control sees slip beyond what it thinks it can manage, you may get a fuel cut instead of torque modulation. I just installed new high performance tires and the vehicle now has stronger acceleration.
You need to get the code off of the existing ECU. I did not need to remove the ECU to do that. I exposed it then got my camera behind it and got a good picture with Macro mode.
The main difficulty was getting the wiper arms off. I needed to purchase a puller. Nothing else in my kit would get the job done. When the ECU is exposed, you need to remove two bolts with a extension. That can be tricky. Below the ECU is a passage down behind the glove box and the bolts can fall down there. Suggest that you look with a flashlight and see if you can stuff some rags to stop a loose fastener from getting away. The situation is more difficult when you are installing the new unit.
You need to get the codes, then put things back together so you can drive until the new ECU arrives. Meanwhile you can get the proper spark plugs installed. Plantinum plugs might be a poor combination. Ask at the performance BB. Also search BCB there.
I put the wiper arms back on with never-seize. The can be very difficult to pop loose, even is perfectly free of any corrosion.
BCB wants pictures of the labels to bypass your possibly writing the code improperly. You also need to supply VIN. Taking a picture of the VIN through the windshield is not as easy as one might expect.
