In my case the blue smoke would appear, say, three days in a row (cold start), then there could be a couple of cold starts without any smoke or with some very faint one. For ex., I left for vacation, and the Saab was parked for more than a week: there was no smoke at all when I started it afterwards. Then the next day there was blue smoke again...
My dealer told me that definitely the turbo will have to be replaced.
However it turned out that the cranckcase ventilation recall still has to be done on my car. So that was done. They said 'it was cloged'. It's been eight days by now and (knock-knock-knock) I didn't see any blue smoke since then. Though probably it's still to early to make any conclusions...
