But not for the reason mentioned in this thread. Armor All as well as most other inexpensive dressings contain silicone oils that dry out plasticizers in the vinyl dash material and cause cracking. The oils also increase surface temp of the dash which adds to the drying process. Stay away from any silicon oil-based dressings for plastic or rubber. The same problems will affect tires as they do plastic.
Look for water-based protectants with a UV inhibitor. One of the best available is 303 Aerospace Protectant. It leaves a nice matte finish on plastic and rubber. If you want a little more gloss, look at Vinylex. One more good rubber & plastic protectant is Eagle One Interior/Exterior Protectant. Nice thing about this stuff is its available at K-Mart for $4/bottle. Vinylex is available at some auto parts stores and is more expensive. 303 is a challenge to find at retail; I buy it online from http://www.properautocare.com.
