Well, the brakes do get hot, but unless you are racing they will not glow red hot like a turbo does. The silver stuff is rated up to something like 700 or 800 degrees F, if I recall correctly - plenty good for a street car wheel. At any rate, I never had any problems with it in many years of use..... The copper stuff is harder to find, and more expensive. But OTH it is probably a better product.
