You don't have to be a genious to figure out
that all 9-5s that have problems which can't be
fixed by the dealer are that way cause the dealer
techs are a bunch of underqualified */ç/(")")
Always the same story, I remember that when I owned
a Lancia (Italian cars have their share of troubles)
my problems wanished when I started having the car
serviced at another Lancia dealer, a small shop
where the owner is the master mech. Like a miracle
my Lancia was sudenly as reliable as a Toyota and
it never let me down for the rest of the time I owned
it.
A friend of mine currently owns a Mercedes 600SE
and he has more trouble then one would imagine with
it. (Electronics in car simply don't work right)
I have told him again and again to switch the dealer
but he rather keeps paying high bills for badly done
fixes.
Same applies for any Euro car, if your dealer has good
mechs, the car works great, if guys are a bunch of */ç*/ç
you keep having problem after problem, cause they simply
have no clue what to look after when they service your car.
Currenly I am satisfied with my SAAB dealer, my 9-5 Aero
had one problem with the rear suspension (torque on the
bolts that keep it together) which was fixed as soon as
I asked for it. This solved a crosswind handling problem.
The only other problem (today this ends) were the Michelin
MXM Pilot tires, which I replace today with some Dunlop SP9000s.
(Never have been happy with a Michelin tire, those thing are
just noisy, trouble and delicate)
So before anyone bashes SAAB maybe you should think about
finding a good mech that knows how to take care of your car.

P.S. Some cars brands have problems that simply can't be fixed
cause the basic design is wrong in some of their models.
Citroen, Audi and VW excell at those weirdo designs that will break down
when you start driving the thing HARD.
