Problems aside, since I own four Saabs, I doubt I would want any other car. My 2000 came with a couple of defects which my 99 did not. My 99 was great until the motor mount / ECU thing which still hasn't fixed the lurching in reverse.
I got my 9000 out of the Indy shop today (Saab mastertech who really likes Saabs but drives a Cadillac) with its new rebuilt ZF tranny. The tech was really impressed with the rebuild by Eriksson but the car is shifting and downshifting hard in third and the Michelins I put on today feel like they weren't properly balanced as the car is shimmying.
With four cars, it seems like I am spending alot of time keeping them up. Maybe it wouldn't seem so bad if I was back to owning just two cars. But I think you are right in that a mastertech mechanic is what is needed for these cars.
