Just thought I'd pass along some info about my continuing saga.
Turns out that the root problem was the heater core. Indy let me source the part (Valeo from RMEuropean for about $80). They pre-emptively replaced that pesky heater bypass valve (since it was no additional labor) as well. Heat is great . . . . but
When the car is warmed up, and I'm driving at speed -- I have a furnace. Its terrific -- hasn't been this warm in years.
When I am idling, or coasting at relatively low RPM -- long traffic light, following a school bus, it it markedly cooler.
Any thoughts? Thermostat getting lazy? Aux heater pump (its a V6 and has one)? They are about the only parts that haven't been replaced recently.
