I agree, the Aero is a hot car and it is a very different beast compared to the V6 and the LPT-4. Suspension, body trim - the Aero is in a different class. Folks today find that the V6 and the LPT-4 are more closely matched in trim level and because of that the core battle seems to be the V6 vs. the LPT-4 in the comparison areana. Given the two choices, I would choose the V6. While I know that the LPT-4 can be more readily tweaked, most folks are not going to go to the trouble. The V6 is a smooth, reliable engine.
At the heart, when ever this topic comes up, people pipe up making claims that the V6 is a poor engine - not reliable, poor performer, etc. and it is just not true. Search the board; the complaints on the V6 come from LPT-4 folks - not anyone with any experience. It's all conjecture and hearsay.
Now, if I were to talk about reliability issues I see discussed on the board, the LPT-4 defiantly has more.. Vibrations and blue-smoking turbos are just two of the more recent discussions.
