Hello,
Yes with the GM oil is suppose to be flushed. The procedure was to put 1.5 quarts in. Run it for a few minute drive and then drain it out. Repeat and then do the final fill. So it took about 5 quarts todo the entire procedure. This was to make sure that the old fluid was out and shifting smoothness was improved. I usually do at least one drain and refill after a little drive when I change a car over to redline as well only because it makes sense to get the new fluid into the synchro's and coating on the gears and to get the old style fluid removed. Good Luck, Bernie
